SPECIALIZED TRAINING

Foster Parents are an integral part of the treatment services that children and youth experience in foster care. Being an effective Foster Parent requires a commitment to continual personal growth and professional skill development.

Our Foster Parents aren't alone on their parenting journey. We provide ongoing training and education to help them navigate the complex issues and needs of the children, youth, and young adults in their care. Specialized training programs are offered all year round.

Foster Parents also become members of a community — the Bridgeway Family. Through training, conversation, and shared experiences, they are able to support each other in all the challenges and joys that come with fostering.

Training is a vital part of healthy parenting, longevity of placements, and good outcomes.

TRAININGS ARE CONTINUAL

Foster Parents participate in regularly scheduled in-service trainings dealing with a wide range of topics. They receive annual training in FASD, Standard First Aid, Infant/Child CPR, and UMAB.

TRAININGS ARE SPECIALIZED

Trainings include evidence-informed, up-to-date information. This equips Foster Parents with the skills and confidence to deal with the issues affecting today's children and youth.

TRAININGS ARE INDIVIDUALIZED

We offer additional training and coaching that specifically relates to the individual clinical needs of the Foster Children, Youth, and Young Adults in their care.

Foster Parents are empowered and equipped through ongoing trauma-informed training and professional development.
