BECOME A VOLUNTEER DRIVER
It's more than driving a Foster Child from 'point A' to 'point B'. You are taking part in their life and journey.
Children and youth are precious cargo! As a Volunteer Driver, you become a special friend, a safe person, and a reliable support to Foster Families and their children/youth. Bridgeway aims for consistency when assigning drives so that children and drivers form trusting relationships.
Our Volunteer Drivers take Foster Children, Youth, and Young Adults to and from access visits and appointments. Most drive needs in our program are outside of the local areas of the Foster Home.
REIMBURSEMENT PER KILOMETER
Reimbursement per kilometer is provided for the entire distance travelled from when you leave your home, complete the drive, and return home.
MINIMAL ADMINISTRATION
Drivers have minimal administrative responsibilities and don't require complex computer skills. Our drive request system makes accepting and declining drives fast and easy.
CAR/BOOSTER SEATS PROVIDED
Bridgeway supplies drivers with car/booster seats as required. You will also receive government-approved training in how to properly install and use them.
